While it may be tempting to burn a scented candle all day long, the recommended burn time is only 3-4 hours in one sitting. This allows for a more controlled and even burn. If you experience excessive "mushrooming" (when the wick begins to tilt and bloom), you are likely burning your candle for too long. Be sure to extinguish it after 4 hours of continued use and wait for the flame to be fully out before leaving the candle unattended.

Also, it's important to always burn your candle on a heat safe  surface and keep your burning candle away from drafts. Besides being a fire hazard, drafts will push the candle to consume more energy, and in turn, reduce the life of your scented candle.
