Our Story
Our Founder and CEO, Chinelo Okonkwo, hails from sunny Los Angeles, California. Ever since Chinelo was a young girl, she has been “olfactory obsessed” and often experimented with fragrance. It was her true love for creating warm, inviting spaces with fragrance that inspired her to establish Luxey Maison.
Chinelo was frustrated that her favorite luxury fragrance brands weren't eco-friendly and the "natural" brands lacked inspiring scents. She wanted a better option and sought to create something different. Her passion for developing unique scents led her to Provence to study the art and science of fragrance in the world capital of perfume, Grasse, France. Chinelo received technical training and professional certification in France from premier perfumery school, Cinquième Sens, which has trained numerous fragrance professionals at leading prestige beauty brands including Chanel and Dior.
Chinelo's focus on premium, eco-friendly ingredients and fine craftsmanship goes into the creation of every Luxey Maison product. Sustainability is a core mission for our brand. We strive to reduce waste; in fact, most of our products are "crafted-to-order" specially for you. Our packaging is consciously designed to be reused- from the glass vessel and candle box to the compostable packing chips and wrapping paper we use to carefully ship your order.
